The students from Gakoni Adventist College (all 110) have pooled their own funds to sponsor a student themselves!
They knew how much Mbonigaba Mbonimpa would benefit from boarding school attendance. Living in the Nyabiheke Refugee Camp as an orphan, not even with grandparents, he had no system of support.
Because of the love that has been shown to these students through their sponsors, they tried to think of ways to pay it forward, showing this same kind of love to another who needed it desperately.
To earn the money to sponsor Mbonigaba, they are growing onions and cabbage and selling them to the community, they have a canteen to sell soda and crackers, and have even made liquid soap to sell. Talk about initiative!
